DESCRIPTION
An early four-player game (Quadrapong was the first), Warlords takes the Breakout formula (complete with rotary control) and places it within a medieval environment. When the game begins, a dragon enters the playfield and lets loose a fireball, which bounces around the playfield. Up to four fireballs can appear onscreen at once, and each player uses a shield to guard a castle positioned in one of the four corners of the screen. Each time the fireball hits a castle wall, a brick(s) disappears, leaving the castle resident more and more vulnerable as the game progresses. If the ball gets in, the game is over for the player guarding that castle. A Power Stone button enables players to catch the fireball and send it toward an enemy castle. Warlords has a little more graphical detail and better sound effects than your average Pong-type game, and the multi-player action is highly competitive. A two-player version of the game was also produced. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
