DESCRIPTION
Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 includes everything from the 1999 original and a number of new additions. Running on the engine used in THQ's successful N64 WWF titles, the game uses a control system suitable for even the youngest of players.
The title comes complete with five arenas, multiple modes of play, and 90+ characters from all around the world, a feat accomplished only by the Fire Pro Wrestling series until now. Wrestlers include such names as Vader, Mitsuharu Misawa, Jyushin Thunder Lyger, Masato Tanaka, Hayabusa, The Great Sasuke, and many more.
Like most Japanese wrestling titles, Virtual Pro Wrestling 2 comes with a Create-A-Wrestler mode, allowing players to design their own wrestlers from scratch. Another feature of the game is the Create-A-Belt mode. This mode allows players to name a belt, give it to a wrestler, and defend it in matches, whether they are triple threat, one-on-one, tag team, or even battle royals. Players are given the choice of 15 or so belt designs, and champions will wear their belt(s) to the ring during entrances.
Players can also hold their own Pay-Per-View events, tournaments, and shows that display attendance and crowd reaction ratings to let the player know how good of a show he or she has put on. Advancing through these modes allows players to unlock at least 15 hidden characters from various organizations including New Japan Pro Wrestling, WCW, Toryumon, FMW, and more. Various items can also be unlocked such as new outfits, weapons, moves, taunts, and more.
Players can have up to 16 created wrestlers, 8 belts, 3 Pay-Per-Views, option settings, and a few other items saved on the cartridge at one time; a Controller Pak is not used for saving. The title is also Rumble Pak compatible so players can feel the sensation of being slammed on the mat. ~ Ryan Berg, All Game Guide
