DESCRIPTION
Virtua Squad 2 (previously known as Virtua Cop 2) is another of Segas Arcade conversions that has found itself wound up on the PC. Delivering the same type of point-and-shoot on rails action that the original and most other light-gun shooters deliver, Virtua Cop 2 tells the continued story of three cop's battle against a criminal syndicate working under the company name of EVL Inc. The Virtual police realizing that something fishy is going on have moved into investigate further and find out what they had thought to have been a closed case is anything but!
Virtua Squad 2 features only three stages (Big Chase, Save the Mayor, and Railline Shootout) and lacks the official light gun support of the Saturn version, though the mouse is supported and works efficiently with the game. Despite the lack of stages, players can pick up new weapons (rifles, magnums, machine guns, automatics) and also select from multiple paths offered on three occasions throughout your explosive adventure. Four bosses also exist and are distinctive from your average enemy through their tough armor, possible hovering abilities, and also by the fact that they carry projectile launchers.
Two-player options are offered through LAN and same screen methods. ~ Brad Penniment, All Game Guide
