DESCRIPTION

Uprising from 3DO/Cyclone Studios successfully blends two play types (3D-first person shooter and top view multi-unit strategy) which have traditionally had great success with gamers.

In Uprising you are the commander of rebel forces against the Imperials. You can control the action from within a Wraith (Super Tank) which serves as your mobile command unit. Using the Wraith you can travel with your forces attacking enemy citadels (bases). In the course of these actions you must also build your own citadels from which to call in infantry, tank and air support for you battle efforts. You must also of course defend your own citadels. This is accomplished with tank, infantry, and air support units but stationary gun emplacements and S.A.M. sites can be set up in limited numbers around each citadel. Once a citadel is online you can also take direct control of the citadels main gun to assist in the defense of the particular citadel.
