DESCRIPTION
Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition is an enhanced repackaging of Unreal Tournament, the extremely successful sequel to the original Unreal. Unreal Tournament is a first-person shooter that focuses on multiplayer action and online match play. Although the most rewarding competition in Unreal Tournament is usually provided by another human opponent, this version of the game features bots with improved AI that allows them to swim, use elevators, trigger doors, and obey basic squad commands like "attack" or "hold position." This makes the bots more useful as teammates and more challenging as opponents in solo play.
Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year also features two new modes, Rocket Arena and Chaos UT. Rocket Arena allows hardcore gameplay in an arena with no extra weapons or power-ups. Chaos provides a neo-Gothic style of play with swords and crossbows. These modifications were officially tested and stabilized before they were included in the reissue of the game. Deathmatch levels have been redesigned for this version as well. There are also three new map packs (Epic Bonus Pack, Innox Map Pack, and Digital Extremes Map Pack) that add 20 new maps to the original game. In addition to these and other improvements, Unreal Tournament: Game of the Year Edition features ten new weapons, including the Pulse Blaster and the Rocket Launcher, all of which can be used in any mode of play. ~ T.J. “I'm starting to get my old skill back. Played the second mission and on my second try I started destroying the NPCs on Godlike difficulty. Within 20 seconds I was up 9-1 before I lost to the NPCs...”

“With all the good FPS games out there, this one still holds up well.”

“Mindless bloodshed and a minigun. What more can a man want? Unreal Tournament is no doubt one of the greatest FPS of all time. To this day it still has hundreds of dedicated players and modders. PIck it up and prepare for the mayhem that ensues. ”

“Another all-time favorite. Quick game speed; high-twitch only. Even the bot AI was decent enough to improve your skills as a beginner. Good gameplay diversity.”

“The closest the traditional arena-based FPS has come to perfection, Unreal Tournament still has an incredibly strong community, a modding scene that would make Oblivion blush and an instant pick-up-and-play quality. An absolute must.”
