DESCRIPTION
Your alter-screen-ego is private investigator Tex Murphy, a hard-nosed, slick-talking, romantic, trouble-magnet type of guy. Under A Killing Moon marks the third time Tex has shown up in a computer adventure, following the earlier releases of Mean Streets and Martian Memorandum.
The game is an interactive movie with full motion video and professional actors. Starring in the adventure is Brian Keith as Murphy's friendly antagonist, Margot Kidder as the snappy bartender and Russell Means. James Earl Jones makes a voice acting appearance as the Big P.I. in the Sky. The director and co-designer of the game is Chris Jones who plays the lead part of Murphy.
The humor-filled story takes place in the year 2042 and features a society consisting of Mutants and Norms. A varied cast of over 30 characters inhabits this futuristic world. The plot revolves around a madman who has plans to "purify" the earth from a platform in space by eliminating the genetically challenged. Then, decades later, he'll return with the genetically pure right stuff (collected prior to implementation of the plan) and take over.
Your task as Tex is to thwart this evil plan (once discovered) using your considerable private investigator talents. Under A Killing Moon features full speech and computer generated 3D backgrounds and operates with a point-and-click interface. ~ Michael L. House, All Game Guide
