DESCRIPTION
Midway's Mortal Kombat franchise makes its DS debut as a translation of the arcade's Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. By default the top screen displays the classic one-on-one action, while the second screen shows the selected character's move list. Since the directional pad and face buttons are used to control the game rather than the touch screen, players can set each screen's display according to their preferences. Also included with the game is "Puzzle Kombat," a lighthearted puzzle title that originally appeared in 2004's Mortal Kombat: Deception. Yet the biggest news for DS owners is the inclusion of Wi-Fi support for both online fighting and puzzle battles against a friend. Local wireless brawls are available as well in both multi-card and single-card formats, with the latter reducing the playable character list to four: Scorpion, Reptile, Kitana, and Jade. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
