Sir Arthur returns to rescue his fair maiden in this enhanced update to Capcom's classic coin-op game. Princess Prin Prin has been abducted by the devil himself, forcing Arthur to brave the darkest depths and scariest sights to save her. The original's side-scrolling viewpoint and platform-hopping action are unaltered in this re-imagined version, which features new 3D graphics and hazard-laden environments.

In addition to hurling projectile weapons, Arthur can double jump, grab onto ledges, and perform other new moves. While the arcade game's notorious difficulty has been scaled back, hardcore players looking for a challenge worthy of their skills will find it in the title's "ultimate" mode. Ultimate Ghosts 'N Goblins also includes a level-up system for enhanced attacks, a save feature between stages, and an assortment of weapons and armor to help stave off the enemy's relentless advances. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
