In UFO: Extraterrestrials, players take control of a squad of special operatives, to defend a new colony on a distant planet from an alien threat. Similar in style and spirit to Laser Squad Nemesis, as well as to the home computer classic, X-Com: UFO Defense, this game from Eastern Europe's Chaos Concept is designed to offer tense, turn-based tactical combat across a series of realistic, isolated map locations. A strategic world overview allows players to survey the colonized planet and choose which missions to pursue. The default mission view offers an isometric perspective, from which players can command their individual squad members. The game also features destructible environments, allowing players to alter the battlefield, by destroying buildings or blasting a hole in a wall to make a new passage. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide
