And let's not forget that sometimes you get blinking enemies. Meaning I could be swinging my sword at a guy that's literally "blinking" in and out of....what would you call it?...reality?

Needless to say after 20 minutes of this I chucked the whole thing in the trash.

“@Mishy If a game freezes or has extreme slowdown due to a whole 4 mobs on the screen at the same time, then it has become a failure in my book, and I don't need to play the game to verify that it sucks. All I'd get from it are even more reasons to hate the game.

I HAVE NEVER EXPRIENCE THE GRAPHICAL ISSUES therefore its not a problem with me, same reason I like my 360s, sure OTHER people get the issues with red rings, shoddy design whatever but PERSONALLY I never have had a problem with them so why not use something that isn't broken?

“Well, that would depend on whether the game is new or used, whether the company bothered to advertize and whether it got trashed or hyped hard and early by people who didn't play it. I've seen some pretty good games go down in price very quickly for various reasons, and I've also seen some total #@%@!$#% fly off the shelves because it was well hyped.”

“It had potential, and multiplayer with friends was interesting at times. A sequel has the possibilities to be what Two Worlds wanted to be. Just look at Assassin's Creed 2, Killzone 2, Saints Row 2 and then games where even when the original was good the sequel was better... Everquest 2 (though not many people gave that one a chance), Civilization series, Diablo 2, Forza, Gran Turismo, etc....”

As for why a Two Worlds sequel could be good... why not? It is trying to fill a gap where there is no real game at. “I have to disagree with you there. Halo was amazing when it first came out on Xbox. There weren't really any FPS games on consoles that flowed that smoothly in 2001, and controlling the vehicles were just as easy as controlling yourself.

Halo 2 added Dual Wielding, boarding enemy vehicles, a SHIT TON of covenant weaponry and vehicles, as well as some new human weapons and a new warthog. The Arbiter also became playable, and it had a more progressive story imo. Sounds like a success to me.

As for Halo 3 being overrated, I can see that. But it did have a lot of new things from Halo 2. Besides the new vehicles, Forge and Theater is what really makes it a fun game for me. I mean without Forge we would never have Rocket Race. And if there wasn't Rocket Race, I would of quit playing Halo 3 years ago.”

There was practically no vertical aiming at all - it felt like I was playing Doom. If anything the smoothest controlled shooter on the N64 I've played was Conker's Bad Fur Day. And that was a 3rd Person shooter.

There were vehicles in Perfect Dark and Goldeneye?!

As for Dual Wielding I was comparing it to the first Halo. 'Twas an awesome improvement.”

“@bettadud what the heck are you talking about? There was lots of vertical aiming in Goldeneye and Perfect Dark. Though, it normally required the 1.4 or 1.3 control schemes in Goldeneye. It was there, however.

Cannot remember which control scheme in Perfect Dark did this.

And yes--there were vehicles in those two games. In fact, many people would have the most fun in the vehicle in level 3 of Goldeneye (the runway). In fact, one of the levels in Russia was largely only passable if you used the vehicle that was provided (as otherwise, you'd have issues catching up to Trevelian/Janus/006 when he was kidnapping Natelia).

As per Conker's Bad Fur day--my interpretation of it, was it played, control wise, exactly like any of the other Banjo Kazooie games that Rare made for the N64. In fact, I call it Banjo Kazooie 8: Now With Toilet Humour, as that was all it was.”

“For Goldeneye and Perfect Dark there was vertical aiming - just not a lot of it. Unless you count the times in single player where you destroyed security cameras and watch towers. In multiplayer it was all about strafing and aiming left and right.

Conker's Bad Fur Day single player was like Banjo Kazooie, if you're comparing it as an adventure game. Multiplayer was a whole different story. Almost every game variant involved you shooting everything that moves. There was sniping in it too - and it was actually pretty smooth.”

I mean, Conker's Bad Fur day was good for the initial laughs at the blood and gore--but well... that gets boring very quickly. Remove the blood and gore... and all the game value of the Multiplayer is removed. The various overly unbalanced elements, level glitches, etc., become a lot more obvious.

As per your assertion that it is not so much whether the ability is there, so much as whether it gets used or not, that turns into a metagame issue--and not one of the actual game itself. The maps certainly allow for the vertical aiming in a lot of places. The fact that it does not get used, is now placed on the shoulders of the people playing the game.”

It's why I have Planescape Torment as my favorite(Never seen a better storyline, or cast of characters.) and Fallout 2(Haven't seen a game with better atmosphere, or a better battle system.) and The Witcher(No other game has made me think about who and what is the right choice. It's also got a battle system that is only worse than Fallout 2.) as my 2 other favorites.”

As per Nostalgia... well--I would say this is true. But then, I have since walked into record stores, saw what was claimed to have been big in the 1990s, and thought, "this was the stuff we hated in the 1990s. I mean, everytime somebody requested it on the radio, we wanted to find that person and shoot them."

Once I realised that I could now say that about a generation... I realised that I am now exempt from Nostalgia as I am now just simply old o.o'

Counter Strike--never really got into it TBH. I mean--it just never interested me as far as games go o.o'

CS isn't my type of game personally, but I think it deserves its popularity. For its time, it had the most realistic combat in any online FPS out there, and for several years after it still did. Halo had nothing on it other than being a console fps that was tollerable, but since it was the best FPS seen on a console for its time(and believe me, there are quite a few much better xbox(not 360, although there's a lot there too.) fps's that kick the ass of even Halo 3), it got overhyped to holy heck.

There's not a single Halo title that has been ahead of its time, wheras most Valve titles have been WAAAAAAAY ahead of their time, and most are still worth playing.”

1. Referring to KZ as "The Next Halo" was meaing an attempt to replace Halo as the major console multiplayer FPS. The next evolution of console multiplayer FPSs so to say. (still a good 5-10 years behind current PC FPSs)

2. For the PC, I had some fun times with the original Two Worlds when I was playing with my cousin or one of my friends. There wasn't another similiar RPG that offered non-MMO online gaming. It had interesting concepts, alchemy done ok, and most of the gameplay was quite average but not horrible. Now, the gameplay on the console was horrid.

3. You are right that for most people, Halo represented their first real foray into an FPS, so they thought it was groundbreaking when in reality for most long term gamers it was old news. I hate people who play CoD on the consoles because they have NO SKILL when you compare them to people who play online on the PC.

4. Counter-Strike sucks now. It started off decent, then when to shit after one of its upgrades. No more hit detection, easier to cheat, and behind the time textures even when Source was released. Day of Defeat (only recently going down the crapper) and Red Orchestra were much better FPSs for Half-Life mods. Also, it wasn't made by Valve, just bought over by them later on... I'm guessing that is when it went downhill. Also, Valve didn't do anything major for Multiplayer FPSs, the community did (mostly in thanks to what TRIBES and Rainbow 6 showed possible to the modding community). In fact, Half-Life provided less in terms of a foundation for modders than both Rainbow 6 and TRIBES... the wrong game gained attention in those late 90s. If TRIBES was focused on more, netcode would be much more efficient for gaming.”

Halo bothers you because people claimed it's the best ever? Sure I can see why you're upset about it. But for me it's one of my favorite franchises, and imo don't think it's overrated. I loved the story so much, I actually bought and own all the books.”

Independent Gamer gave it a low score.

Electronic Gaming Monthly gave it a low score... and that magazine is known to be bias to that crap.

Gamers Europe gave it another poor score. Typically most European rags tend to have less issues of being proproganda rags from what I have seen. It is mostly a culture thing. Compare Fox News to BBC World News.

Game Critics gave it a low score. BTW: the quote from its review of, "The real selling point behind Bad Fur Day aren't the twists on gameplay, but rather the radical approach Rare's taken with regard to content and humor." Citation BTW: http://www.gamecritics.com/review/conkers_bfd/main.php

Most of the other scores are by magazines that are just like Emmy Awards... they go to who ever has the most money.

BTW: IGN and GameSpot are notorious for having their reviews bought. I mean, they may as well come out, and say, this game play 90% of the money required to give it a good score. It would be more honest if they did that.

As per why people saying it is the best ever... well... that is exactly what we are debating. The fact that it is so damn over rated. It really does not add and feature, or functionality that really earns it the title of "Best FPS ever".

It i okay for it to be your personal favourite. I mean, I have plenty of favourite games that I would be the last person to claim they are the best of the genre. I just say that they are my favourite.”

Halo isn't the best FPS ever

Other games have more useful thigns in it (Throwing back grenades for an example) but that dosn't mean it isn't a fun / good game”
