Named after Tutankhamen, the famous boy Pharoah of ancient Egypt, Tutankham is a maze shooter (similar to Wizard of Wor) in which players maneuver an explorer through four colorful, beautifully rendered tombs within a pyramid, searching for a map, an urn, a golden death mask and other treasures belonging to King Tut. The cabinet has two joysticks, one for directional movement and the other for firing left and right at the bats, asps, dragons and other monsters that guard the treasure. This control system creates special challenges as players cannot fire up or down. Adding to the challenge is a time limit and locked doors, which can be opened with keys appearing at various locations throughout the mazes. Helping matters are special flash bombs, which act as smart bombs, warp zones, which enable players to teleport from one section to another, and a miniaturized display near the top of the screen showing an expanded view of the playfield. An Egyptian-theme soundtrack that fits the mood perfectly backs this fast paced game. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
