DESCRIPTION
In Disney/Pixar's Toy Story Racer, players have the opportunity to choose some of their favorite Toy Story characters and take to the tracks, mixing it up in a four car race with the hopes of taking home the checkered flag. The game uses clips of full-motion video to simulate a 3D racing environment.
You can start by selecting from four Toy Story characters: Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Bo Peep, and Mr. Potato Head. Then it's on to the tracks. There are ten different raceways in Toy Story Racer taking place in three different environments: Andy's Room, Pizza Planet, and The Street. There is also a final race which takes place in both Andy's Room and through the room of the evil boy Sid. Scattered around the tracks are a number of power-ups and obstacles, including a horseshoe that makes your driver temporarily invincible, tires which improve traction, a steering wheel which reverses your steering, and an anchor which will stop your car dead. Players must avoid the obstacles and use the power-ups to their advantage, passing the other three racers to win first place.
There are two different modes: Quick Race and Tournament. The Quick Race is a single event, featuring one quick race for those who don't have time for an entire tourney. In the Tournament, you start out with four racers and take on each track. When you lose a race, you lose a character, but you can buy them back with coins you find on the track. The object is to get at least one of your racers through all the tracks and finish first in the final race. ~ Jon Thompson, All Game Guide
