In a continued partnership with Eidos Interactive, the publisher of the Tomb Raider series for the PC and PlayStation, Westlake Interactive and Aspyr Media, Inc. have brought Lara Croft once again to the Macintosh in Tomb Raider III: The Adventures of Lara Croft. The game offers classic action-adventure starring the beautiful archeologist Lara Croft. New gameplay elements, technical enhancements, and visual improvements, (including support for OpenGL, 32-bit color, and new-and-improved lighting and fire effects), will greet you as you travel through five huge worlds in the quest for an ancient meteor rumored to have life-giving powers.
Tomb Raider III also features a new crop of complex puzzles, challenges, and surprises. From the South Pacific to Antarctica, Lara must be ready for action with her new moves, vehicles, and new weapons.
Speaking of weapons...Lara has access to an assortment of them, including dual pistols, a shotgun, a grenade and rocket launcher, MP5, an Uzi, harpoon gun, a 45 caliber Desert Eagle handgun, and flares. Lara is showcased in four different outfits that change depending on her mission. Her wardrobe ranges from her usual attire to a new cat suit and winter jacket.
You can take control of new vehicles, such as a quad bike, kayak, cart, and an underwater propulsion unit. Levels are less linear in this adventure and feature a total of 59 secrets and a number of short cuts. To help you find all these things, Lara can now perform monkey swings, crawl, and sprint. Her mansion has been included (which made its debut in Tomb Raider II) with bigger and more rooms, a shooting range, and a personal gym. ~ Tara Hernandez, All Game Guide
