Though not as well known as Mike Tyson's Punch-Out for the NES, TKO Super Championship Boxing is an enjoyable game in its own right, bolstered by colorful graphics and simple and efficient controls. A boxing glove meter is on hand, and it will temporarily expire if players punch too quickly too frequently. Once the meter is empty, players cannot punch for a few moments, preventing gamers from simply button-mashing their way to success. After each tournament bout, players can exercise (jump rope, punch the sandbag, etc) their fighter to build up his foot speed, punching speed, endurance and strength, giving the game a boost in the depth department. Eight selectable fighters, good sound effects, and a password feature add to the game's playability. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
