Tiny Toons Adventures: Defenders of the Universe stars Buster, Babs, Hamton, Elmyra, Plucky, and five more Looneyversity students on a quest to save the rich planet of Gold Star. In a storyline that borrows elements from films Galaxy Quest and Star Wars, the game introduces a peaceful alien race called the Bullions who believe the Tiny Toons can rescue their home planet from the clutches of the Galactic Overlord and his army of Drizzletroopers.

After agreeing to help, the Tiny Toons hop on board the nearest rocket ship and chart a course for the planet made entirely of gold. In addition to a cooperative Adventure mode, the game supports four players for simultaneous "Toonmatch" combat on the same screen. Each character has a distinct special move or item, such as the Fifi's defensive Le Odor of Love or Babs' powerful Megaphone, to gain an edge in the mayhem. A total of eight stages are inspired by classic episodes of the Steven Spielberg-produced television series, which ran from 1990 to 1993. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide
