DESCRIPTION
Sword's a wandering swordsman who aids people against his better judgment. Through his various entanglements he's decided there's nothing worth protecting and has grown weary of the world's problems in general. As he reluctantly takes up yet another mission, he's attacked by a mysterious knight. He chases the knight into a clock tower, and discovers a strange book inside. When Sword opens the book, he's transported to a strange realm in the sky that seems to be several different time periods tied together.
Sword's greeted by a strange old man who calls himself Master. Master proclaims Sword a hero of legend and tells him to start exploring the world. Since Sword's predisposed to despise anyone or anything who tells him what to do, he sets out to escape from the strange world. As his travels unfold, he'll discover new allies and he'll find that not everything is what it seems.
Time Stalkers pits Sword and friends against a world of randomly created dungeons. As you progress, you'll capture monsters and raise them as companions for your dungeon exploration, and you'll find rare and mysterious artifacts during your journey. Because your levels will reset every time you exit a dungeon and your carrying capacity is limited, strategy must be used to succeed.
Sega's VMU accessory comes into play as you'll be able to purchase special mini-games as new shops appear. You'll be able to perform beneficial things on the go like sweetening up a surly monster's disposition or earning tokens for hard-to-get items. ~ Joe Ottoson, All Game Guide

“You could collect these demon like things, as you progress through the fantasy world, a great engrossing game, imo; but than again, I kinda like grinding.”
