DESCRIPTION

The U.S.G.H.Q. has a job for you — the only pilot capable of flying the advanced attack helicopter Thunder Blade. The marauding rebel forces of the merciless and unforgiving dictator General Swindells are overrunning the country. Bombarded by their superior weaponry, it's only a matter of time before the government is overthrown and brought under the iron-fisted rule of this maniacal despot. You are the nation's only hope.

Each of the four stages is divided into three areas. You play the first area from a top-down perspective and the second from behind your helicopter in a third-person viewpoint. The third area camera angle reverts back to a top-down perspective but, unlike the first area, you cannot ascend or descend. During the fight, you fly through the familiar surroundings of Skyscraper City as well as the uncharted River Delta and Desert areas, finally reaching the ominous Refinery where your strongest and most powerful adversary lies in wait.

The Thunder Blade is equipped with chain cannons for air-to-air combat and missiles for air-to-ground attacks. By destroying the seemingly infinite number of enemy tanks, helicopters and jet fighters, you earn bonus points. At the end of the stage, the number of enemies destroyed and the time used to complete the stage determine your total points. Reaching a pre-defined number of points earns you an extra life.
