DESCRIPTION

A popular game on the NeoGeo home/arcade system, Thrash Rally is an arcade style racing game. The gameplay is straightforward: you begin by choosing your car, based on handling, acceleration, and overall speed. The screen then switches to the gameplay view, in which your car is visualized from an overhead vantage point. Action then begins, as the camera remains focused on your car, as you progress around the track. Numerous ramps, obstacles, and jumps accent the gameplay.

Locations are also varied, as you progress through various areas throughout South Africa. Gaming is balanced by a timer which awards you extended amounts of time by reaching certain checkpoints along the way. Levels are reached either through finishing the race in first place, or through having enough time to finish the entire course and accumulating enough overall points to reach the next stage. ~ Paul Biondich, All Game Guide
