“It has come, the first expansion for The Sims 3. If theres one thing the Sims series is known for, its making a lot of expansion packs that will leave you waiting hours if your computer breaks and you have to re-install the whole series and it is annoying when they make new expansions that have been done in the last game. Now, enough with this negative.

In this new expansion, your Sims have the option to travel to three new cities in Egypt, France and China. The expansion introduces a new feature called a visa. When you visit a city, for instance, China, you start with a visa level of 1 out of 3. When you complete adventures, which are like missions where you collect items or explore tombs, your visa level goes up. The higher the visa the more days you can stay in that city, if you max your visa level you can buy a vacation home in that city. Though you cannot stay in that city until you want to go back.

When you go to a city, you live in a base camp at first with other adventurers. In that camp there is a message board where the locals hire you as their foreign slave, your job, to either do boring missions where you collect rocks, beetles, or fruit or you explore deadly tombs full of puzzles, hidden doors, traps, treasures and even mummies!

One minus is that your sim cant live in any of the city, other then locals and vacation houses, the only thing other then tombs is a market with a food, book, general and a special items store. No city hall, no gym, no work buildings. You cant actually live in these new cities.

Three new skills have been added. The Art of Sim-Foo is one of them. in Sim-Foo you can buy a training dummy to spar on and a variety of boards to break, which include Oak Board, Foam Board and Space Rock Board. It also works like chess, you can call people to spar with and crawl your way to the top of the ranks. Then there is Nectar making. Nectar is pretty much just a rated teen version of wine. You make it and age it. 'Nuff said.
The last skill is photography, you buy a camera and take pictures that can be sold and fit into categories which can earn you money if you take pictures of everything in each category.

Theres a lot of things I can go on about of this game. Like the new basement tool. But I gotta run. I'm just going to leave you with this. If your not a sims fan like me, this isn't really the expansion for you. Its definitely fun but still could use some improvements. I give it a 3/5 stars.”
