Exploring the Tower Of Druaga was no easy task, but in its sequel, Return Of Ishtar, two players must help intrepid heroes Ki and Gil overcome an even more daunting mission: getting out of the Tower. Ditching the overhead maze view for an isometric (but still mostly overhead) side-scrolling quest, the game pits players against an endless array of adversaries. Ki's magic and Gil's might will have to be used in carefully-judged combinations to defeat their foes. Return Of Ishtar has a most unusual feature which, while common for contemporary home video games like the NES, was unheard of for arcade games in its time: a password feature allowing players to pick up where they left off. At the end of a game, a password is displayed, allowing the same players to come back to the machine later and continue from their last position. ~ Earl Green, All Game Guide
