DESCRIPTION
The House of the Dead is a first-person 3D shooter from Sega. The object of the game is to storm a house filled with zombies, monsters, and other bad guys and save the human inhabitants. Enemies march toward the character from the front, the rear, and the side. Armed with your gun, you must blow them all away. Gameplay is constant, with each level flowing into the next. The player starts outside the house and works his/her way into it, killing enemies along the way. Occasionally, monsters attack other humans. When a player successfully saves a human from a monster, the human awards the player with a health bonus. Special guns and ammunition are also hidden among the wreckage inside and outside the house.
After players make it into the house, they must work their way deeper and deeper into it. More and stronger enemies appear as the game progresses. Players should always aim for an enemy's head. Body shots do not always kill. Players start with a basic six-shooter. To reload, shoot at an area off the screen. Other guns hold more ammunition, giving the player more time between loads. The ultimate goal of The House of the Dead is to rid the house of all of the monsters and restore it to its state before the bad guys took over. ~ Anthony Baize, All Game Guide
