Alexey Pajitnov's classic puzzle game returns with different six variations in Tetris Worlds. The game's Story mode centers on the Minos, an alien race whose planet is on the brink of destruction. Only by manipulating the blocks of the Tetrion space gateways will the Minos be able to escape to six worlds suitable for habitation. Each world hosts a specific type of Tetris — classic, Square, Sticky, Hot-Line, Fusion and Cascade — and the better you play, the more Minos will be rescued. As Minos begin to inhabit a world, it becomes an increasingly attractive and hospitable place to live.
The Arcade mode can be played by a single player, but its real function is as a staging ground for multiplayer competitions. All six Tetris variations are available in this mode, and up to four players can play at once using the same computer. Options available in every variant and mode include a next box that shows six pieces, a "ghost" piece that makes it easier to line up drops, and a "hold" function that lets you store one piece until you decide to use it. Each of these extras can be toggled on and off. ~ Skyler Miller, All Game Guide
