Pilot single-seat fighters and gunboats for fun and profit in Terminus. Featuring a detailed campaign which develops around many different variables, Terminus is a versatile space fighter simulation with a heavy dose of role-playing elements.
In the future, as human beings extend their influence to the other planets in the solar system, an amazing new technology is discovered on a moon of Jupiter. Perhaps a relic of some ancient alien visit, the knowledge gleaned from this strange device so greatly expands mankind's capacity for space travel throughout the solar system that even the most basic principles of trade and commerce are affected. Long-established organizations are disrupted and new factions of pirates and mercenaries rise to power.
Terminus players can choose to fly for one of the two major organizations, the United Earth League or the Mars Consortium. There is also the option to go to work for the Marauders, a faction of pirates that operates out of the asteroid belt. Truly independent characters may choose to act as free mercenaries, taking the missions that suit them from the establishments that pay the best. No matter what type of character the player chooses to play, there will competition from other pilots of all sorts for the best missions and most valuable properties.
Some pilots are independent NPC's with their own agenda. In multiplayer games, some of these pilots will be controlled by real human players as well. The ongoing story in Terminus takes place in one encompassing universe in which essentially everything is related and events progress in real time, leaving a real historical context for future actions and events. ~ T.J.
