DESCRIPTION
From the creators of original Tenchu, a forefather of the stealth-action style, Tenchu: Shadow Assassins is designed just for Wii. Players may master as many as 17 ninja weapons in the game, each with unique Wii Remote control motions. Stealth Assassins is played form a third-person perspective, a medium distance behind the character by default, but the camera angle changes often, according to the task being performed and the layout of the area. As in the original PlayStation game, players take control of the exceptionally skilled ninjas Rikimaru and Ayume, and follow their stories as they protect the Gohda clan and keep the peace from behind the scenes. The game takes place across feudal Japan. Missions play out in different environments, but undetected infiltration and quiet, quick kills are always the objective. When positioned to execute a special ability or perform a special attack, an animated controller appears onscreen. Players must make matching motions with their own controllers to cause their characters to perform the move. A successful special attack is usually rewarded with a quick cut-scene of the maneuver smoothly taking the enemy out of commission. ~ T.J. Deci, All Game Guide

“The Wii-ification of an otherwise great franchise has marred it in every way possible. Sneaking is not everything, it is the only thing. Freedom to choose paths and methods for completing objectives is gone. No longer can you improvise if spotted, you merely are kicked back to the previous checkpoint. The grappling hook... well... what grappling hook? Ninjas climb on boxes, according to the latest iteration. The first level pissed me off so much I didn't dare continue. The paths are so rigidly defined they may as well have neon signs pointing them out, and they practically do. If this is what Tenchu is like on the Wii, count me out.”

“I am kinda disappointed with this title, I was expecting it to be as good as the previous titles but I think in order to make it seem more special for the Wii they in fact made it more complicated. ”
