“Chapter 2 sadly doesn't do too much to make me step away from the criticism I had concerning Launch of the Screaming Narwhal. On the upside, the repetetive puzzles are gone and taking LeChuck into a different direction, at least for now, is a welcome breath of fresh air. However, the story is still going nowhere and the new characters fall flat (remember how memorable nearly every single bit player in the original game used to be?). You wanna talk jokes? Let's just say Guybrush muttering "jerk!" under his breath was the biggest laugh for me -- well, it was the only audible one in the entire chapter. I should probably mention I think the merfolk weren't a good fit for the overall mythology of the series, or at least everyone's refusal to be fazed by their existence seemed off. I'm not mad though -- half of me is just too indifferent and half of me is glad to see Telltale looking for ways to make Monkey Island exciting again.”
