Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers is another installment in the long running Street Fighter II series ported over to the Super Nintendo after receiving mixed publicity at the arcades.
The game's main new draw card is its huge line-up of characters including the four new warriors to make up a total of sixteen fighters. These new warriors include cheeky Brit Cammy, North American wrestler T.Hawk, Bruce Lee look-a-like Fei long and Jamaican kick boxer Dee Jay. Other old favorites include Bison, Ryu, Ken, Sagat, Zangief, Blanka and Guile. Of course all fighters have a wealth of individual basic and special moves and the combo system is another new addition to the series
Game modes featured are Super Battle (basic arcade point scoring mode that Street Fighter is known for), Versus battle for two-players with full bout history statistics, Group Battle in either match or elimination styles with battles involving up to eight fighters, a multi-player two at a time tournament to find out who is the best available for up to eight contestants and finally Time Challenge (a time based mode that challenges players quickness to defeat opponents).
Options include a massive range of eight different game difficulties, time limit yes or no option, full control pad button layout configuration for both players and finally the option to play with Stereo or Mono sound. ~ Brad Penniment, All Game Guide
