DESCRIPTION
Super Sprint is an overhead racer that features three cars on the track at once. In this version, there are four tracks that can be tackled in a random order. Tracks are confined to one screen and do not scroll. Tracks contain different hazards, such as tunnels, tornadoes and oil slicks. On one of the tracks, there are three shortcuts that open and close at various times.
Whenever a vehicle comes in contact with a wall or a hazards, it'll receive a certain amount of damage. In this event, the vehicle will lose all acceleration and come to a dead halt. When too much damage has been accumulated, the car will be demolished. Never fear, a helicopter will place a new vehicle on the track in the location of the crash.
Wrenches and numbers also appear on the track. These items add bonus points to the overall total at the end of a race. When the race is over, Super Sprint switches to the winner's circle and shows each car's points totals; the third place vehicle appears to be in shambles while the first place racer towers over his competition.
Once first place has been achieved on a track, it is marked with a blue flag on selection screen and is no longer accessible. Failure to finish in first place marks the end of the game. At the end of the game, the total amount of points awarded is added to a list of scores with initials beside each score. ~ Matthew House, All Game Guide
