DESCRIPTION
Based on the Williams arcade game, which is simply titled Smash TV, Super Smash TV puts you (or you and a friend) in a futuristic gameshow. Before a live studio audience and viewers from around the globe, you must battle tanks, laser orbs, exploding tin soldiers, gun men, gangs wielding baseball bats and other dangerous enemies. While running from room to room and shooting everything and everyone in sight, you must search for cash and prizes. Eventually you must face Super-Star Opponents: Mutoid Man, who is half tank, half mutant; Scar Face, who is big and ugly; and Cobra Head, a pair of steel-scaled snakes with forked tongues.
Super Smash TV is a topdown shooter in which you can fire up, down, right, left and diagonally. Initially you wield a simple machine gun, but power-ups that you will find throughout the game can equip you with photon guns, missile launchers, forcefields, grenade launchers and other heavy duty weaponry. You can also gather up bonus lives and speed boosters.
If you play the game well and are crowned Grand Champion, you may enter the Pleasuredome, which contains a veritable cash bonanza. In the two-player simultaneous mode, only the player with the most money in the bank gets to enter the Pleasuredome, even if both contestants survive. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
