DESCRIPTION
One of Nintendo's most anticipated games for 2008, Super Smash Bros. Brawl continues the mascot-mauling series that began in 1998 on Nintendo 64. As in the two previous installments, players will choose from an assortment of major and minor characters from the publisher's prolific past, including such stalwarts as Mario, Pikachu, Link, and Samus. New to Super Smash Bros. Brawl is the inclusion of cross-platform stars Sonic the Hedgehog and Solid Snake, as well as such "slighted" characters as Wario, Diddy Kong, and Pit of Kid Icarus fame. Characters will engage in hand-to-hand or projectile-based combat within multi-tiered environments based on iconic locales. Yoshi's Island, Delfino Plaza, and WarioWare are but a few of the featured stages, each offering built-in hazards and a number of surprise twists.
One of the game's distinguishing features is its offbeat item list, which has now expanded to include the likes of smoke balls, cracker launchers, and one deadly dinner: super spicy curry. As characters progress through the game's several play formats, including a new side-scrolling Adventure Mode, they can take snapshots, win trophies, and even collect stickers to store in an album. Four controller options are available, and players can once again set up dream matches and tournaments by customizing an assortment of minute details. Some of the industry's most respected composers have contributed to the eclectic soundtrack, which features rearranged theme songs and bonus tunes unlocked by collecting CDs throughout the course of play. Yet the most compelling feature for longtime fans is the inclusion of four-player online support for global competition. ~ Scott Alan Marriott, All Game Guide

“I remember when I were a child. I used to play the first Super Smash Bros game a whole lot. It took much of my gaming time, probably over 500 hours. Then Melee came and topped that experience, so I were really looking foreward for this game and had high expectations. It was well deserved.
This game uses the same unique and fun style of gameplay as the first two games in the franchise and have more characters than ever. This is the first game to use no-Nintendo characters. That was at first a little disappointment because I really liked that there were just Nintendo characters in the game. But then when I tried to use them so were they obvious characters in the game.
If you've played any of the other games in the series so will you not need an explaination about the gameplay, but for those who've not so will I explain. The game is like a fighting game, you hit people and deal damage, but there's when the similarity with other fighting games end. Instead of a life meter so is there a %meter, but it doesn't show how much life you've left but how much damage you've taken. To kill someone you have to throw them off stage and to do that easier you deal damage. Because in this game so does the character fly longer after a hit if s/he has taken more damage. I really like this system because that makes it almost impossible to create infinitive combos and makes buttonmashing a less good strategy. When someone is knocked off stage they lose a life if you play with lifes or lose a point and the one who killed them gets a point. Random items also occasy appears taken from the Nintendo universe.
So now when I've talked about what this game shares with the other games I'm gonna tell what's new. Except for the new characters so do we have a new longer adventure mode full with bossbattles from the Nintendo universe. It's a really exciting gamemode that let's you play as different characters in the game and can work as a good tutorial to the game and it's character gallery. By beating different levels in the story mode so do you unlock new characters.
I think this game deserves 5 stars because it's a fun multiplayer game that brings alot of laughter to your gaming company.”

“Melee was a great platform fighting game. Brawl, the sequel, delivers on following up. I couldn't wait for this one to release and was not dissapointed in the final product that Nintendo released. Super Smash Bros. Brawl is a great game. As with previous releases, the game mashes together up to four characters from many of Nintendo's most popular franchises, with the exceptions of Sonic the Hedgehog and Solid Snake. The stages put together the best of the worlds as well as the music.”

Loved the creation of maps. I just wish the online aspect would be better to match up with the better consoles. Friend Codes are disgusting.”
