DESCRIPTION
Based loosely on the animated series Space Goofs, Stupid Invaders is a game of comedy and science fiction featuring cartoon-style 3D animation. A band of five aliens, marooned years ago on Earth when their spaceship crashed, have been hiding out in a suburban house. Just as repairs on the spaceship are completed, Dr. Sakarin, a mad scientist who delights in experimenting on extra-terrestrials, sends Bolok the bounty hunter to capture and deliver them to his secret hideout in Area 52.
Gameplay revolves around acquiring inventory objects and combining them into more elaborate devices to solve puzzles. Many of the game's locations, similar to pre-rendered backgrounds as seen in Grim Fandango or Alone in the Dark, contain immobile interactive elements, which can be examined and manipulated to trigger visual jokes without long-term effect on the story.
The point-and-click interface follows typical genre conventions: explore each area by moving the mouse cursor over objects in the surrounding environment, the cursor changes shape when an interactive item is found and selected items are used by clicking on a specific object. You control all five alien characters at various points during the game.
Stupid Invaders features more than 120 pre-rendered cartoon settings separated into three chapters (the alien house, the cow dung factory and Area 52) and 60 minutes of cut-scenes. ~ Francois Laramee, All Game Guide
