DESCRIPTION
The fighting game series' first true sequel in three console generations, Street Fighter IV re-creates the classic characters, settings, and time-tested 2D fighting mechanics, at resolutions and frame rates that make use of the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 potential. Favorite characters and backdrops, once depicted in 16-bit pixels, appear as colorful, hand-drawn illustrations brought to life in full, fluid 3D. The game introduces a slew of new special attacks, but the series' basic moves are at the heart of the six-button control scheme. A challenging new Focus Attack system can allow a low-health fighter to absorb an attack and then unleash a powerful counterattack, strong enough to grab an unexpected victory with a last-moment turnaround.
Street Fighter IV follows Street Fighter II in the series narrative, taking place before the events of Street Fighter III. Over two dozen characters are available for play, including core heroes and villains from Street Fighter II such as Ryu, Ken, Chun-li, and M. Bison. There are also series newcomers, such as Gouken, the trainer of Ryu and Ken, C. Viper, a government agent with moves as tight as her uniform, and the weapons master Seth, who can use the special moves of other characters. Home versions of Street Fighter IV also feature characters not in the arcade version of the game, including Fie Long, Dan, Gen, and Cammy, who won the most fan votes in an online poll, prior to the game's U.S. release. ~ T.J. “Played this for a while and defeated Seth with Ken and Guile (on Very Easy, sue me). Don't really know what I'm doing, though (except for QCF+P of course).”

From my experiences, it's exactly identical to the console versions. The only real downfalls I've noticed are all based in the online play. Occasionally, you'll fight someone with poor frame rate, which causes the game to move very slowly. Another downfall is that there are currently very few people in the G1 rank. There are, however, very many people in the lower ranks, so I'm willing to believe that this will change sometime soon. Lastly, the Steam distribution of this game does not use steam for matching at all (It uses Windows Live, which is identical to Xbox Live). Sort of a drawback
A good buy for anyone who prefers to sit before the glow of their monitor over their TV.”

“I need to get into this game more but I suck at competitive games, and no controller. Playing with a keyboard is annoying as hell.”

“A nice game, while not perfect nad a bit lacking in balance when it comes to the console character some of which are on the weak side.”

“You'll rip your hair out when you start this game. I'm sure Street Fighter veterans will understand why the Boss character is godly in story mode but people new to the series will be casting a hex on Capcom for creating such a soul shattering game that will break you down into a husk of a gamer crying for mercy.
But, alas! There is light at the end of the tunnel! Just like the military, Street Fighter IV will build you up into an elite fighter gamer ready to pwn and noobs that come your way. I went from getting my rear kicked by easy mode to going toe-to-toe against hardest mode with GUSTO.
The character list is impressive, each have their own personality and unique fighting styles from the world renowned cheap character Sagat with his powerful Taebo exercise moves(no offense to anyone who mains him) to the underpowered joke character Dan Hibiki with his very own mildly embarrassing Saikyo fighting style(but what he lacks in strength he makes up ten fold in spirit!).
In a nutshell, Street Fighter IV is a lot of game for your buck. Unforgettable characters, true to it's roots and solid online play you'll be dreaming of Hadokens and counter attacks all night. (Also, when its dinnertime try not to get excited and scream 'It's SUPER DYNAMIC COOKING TIME!'. You'll be the only one laughing.)
Pros:
*Smooth consistent gameplay,
*Attractive visuals,
*Keeps to it's roots yet brings some new flavor to the table,
*Gameplay on the keyboard is not as awkward as you'd think,
*Online play
Cons:
*Hairloss,
*Sagat (I yolk, I yolk!)
