DESCRIPTION
Four game modes, four players, three battle types and a cherry on top. Street Fighter EX3 features the Original, Arena, Character Edit and Training Modes, the first two further configurable to Tag, Dramatic or Team Battle type. In addition, EX3 has a new and more lethal strain of combos that, coupled with Tag capabilities, introduce an element of strategy to the game.
Original Mode, designed for loner sessions, involves selecting a single character and running a gauntlet of opponents before a final showdown with Vega. Players can choose to fight through the series alone, or add each new conquest to their growing squadron and ultimately take on Vega en masse. For a more social occasion, up to four Multi-Tap-connected players can partcipate in combat at the same time, either as Tag partners or teams, in the Arena Mode.
As always, the Training Mode allows players to hone their skills with 10 configurable options, the better to take on the CPU, friends or the rigors of raising one's own game character. The last, available in Character Edit Mode, gives players the opportunity to create "Ace," an original fighter refined through problem-solving in "Trials" and technique-acquisition in "Purchase." Once fussed to perfection, the brand-new street fighter can be saved to a memory card and used in Original or Arena Mode. It is of course possible to match one original player against another. ~ A.S.
