In traditional Capcom fashion, Street Fighter Alpha 2 is more of an update than a true sequel. The biggest improvements come in the backgrounds, which are entirely new and contain more detail. Gameplay-wise, the only real change comes in the form of "custom combos," which replace the predetermined "chain combos" of its predecessor and allow players to quickly sequence a series of attacks at the expense of energy in their super meter. Akuma, M. Bison, and Dan are now selectable without codes, and five additional characters are also available, including Dhalsim and Zangief from Street Fighter II. ~ Skyler Miller, All Game Guide
