DESCRIPTION
The galaxy is overrun with enemy fighters, and we need your help to protect our starbases from these deadly invaders. Your ship has a limited amount of energy, so you must complete your mission as quickly as possible.
Warp travel will be necessary to reach the far corners of the galaxy. Your viewpoint will be first-person and navigation is achieved via the Mission/Attack Control Computer (MACC), which is called up using the color/black-and-white switch.
Be advised: Energy is expended during warp travel, when you fire your laser and when you are hit by a meteor or enemy fire. You can refuel and recharge your ship by docking with a starbase.
There are four different mission levels to choose from: Ensign, which contains 9 enemy fighters that move at normal speed; Leader, which contains 17 enemy fighters that move at 1.5 times normal; Wing Commander, which contains 23 enemy fighters that move at 2 times normal speed; and StarMaster, which contains 31 enemy fighters that move at 2.5 times normal speed.
You will earn 100 points for each enemy killed, and are penalized 500 points for each starbase destroyed, 100 points for each time you dock with a starbase and 1 point for each stardate elapsed.
Activision awarded the following patches to pilots who achieved high scores: 3,800 points earned Ensign; 5,700 earned Leader; 7,600 earned Wing Commander; and 9,000 earned StarMaster. ~ Skyler Miller, All Game Guide
