DESCRIPTION

The official add-on to StarCraft, StarCraft Expansion Set: Brood War brings several new items to the war between the Terrans, Zerg, and Protoss.

The StarCraft Expansion Set: Brood War boasts new features such as three new tile sets: desert, snow and the dark twilight-world of the Dark Templar. Three new campaigns (with 26 all-new scenarios plus cinema cut scenes!), over 100 multi-player maps and seven new units are available as well.

Terran units have been expanded with two new units. Medics, who can heal and remove parasites and the Valkyrie bomber, an air unit which is equipped with an after-burner and strong missiles. The Terran Medic can also prove useful in multi-player team games due to its ability to heal Zerg buildings which are essentially biological entities.

Zerg forces spurt out the Devourer, a flying unit which is slow but dangerous and the Lurker, a large unit capable of burrowing and attacking while underground.

The Protoss hail three new units. The Corsair, an air unit with splash damage, the Dark Templar who remain permanently cloaked and the Dark Archon, a combination of two Dark Templar. The Dark Templar made an appearance in StarCraft but were only available in one mission.
