DESCRIPTION
The three movies of the original Star Wars trilogy come together in Sega's Star Wars Trilogy Arcade. Whether your battles take place in space or on land, it's up to you to lead the Rebel Alliance to victory over Darth Vader and the Galactic Empire.
You'll start out with a choice of which episode you'd like to tackle first. In "Episode IV" (Star Wars: A New Hope), take control of an X-wing in the Battle of Yavin. The action starts outside of the Death Star, as you fight off TIE fighters and work your way to the space station's surface. There, your battles with TIEs continue and the Death Star's guns are thrown into the mix. Eventually, you'll work your way to Vader's TIE and his wingmen, which you must do your best to destroy. The episode concludes as you make your way through the trench, firing your proton torpedoes into the open shaft to destroy the Death Star.
"Episode V" (The Empire Strikes Back) begins at the Battle of Hoth. In your snowspeeder, you'll have to destroy AT-STs, Imperial Probe Droids and AT-ATs. After that, the action switches to land as you try to escape from the Empire's infiltration of Echo Base. Can you make it to the Millenium Falcon before the Snowtroopers and Wampas obliterate you?
Finally, "Episode VI" lets you relive the action of Return of the Jedi. On a speeder bike, you'll have to destroy Scout Troopers as they try to shoot you down from their bikes. (And watch out for that tree!) As the action progresses, you'll infiltrate the stronghold protecting the shield generator, putting a nice laser into the face of any enemy that happens to impede your progress. Destroy the AT-ST that has made its way to you, and you're ready for the climactic space battle.
Regardless of which order you choose to play each level, your final mission will be to destroy the second Death Star, as in Return of the Jedi. Just like in "Episode IV," you'll have plenty of TIEs — even some TIE bombers — to dispose of before you make it to the battle station itself. Once you make your way into the shaft, you'll have to blast your way through barricades in order to arrive at the main power generator alive. But once you're there, five direct hits will destroy the Death Star, and you'll be the hero of the Alliance.
In addition to these key episodes, two bonus levels are thrown in. You'll control Luke Skywalker's lightsaber movements from a first-person perspective as he takes on Boba Fett and, later, Darth Vader. Can you defeat the Dark Lord of the Sith and help bring order to the galaxy? ~ Christopher Michael Baker, All Game Guide
