DESCRIPTION
Based on the movie Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, Star Wars: Episode 1: Racer takes us back to when Anakin was still a slave. Only now, Anakin is in the podracing circuit and can race not only on Tattooine, but any of 7 other worlds as well.
Players can play in free-play or tournament mode. In Tournament mode, players race over the tracks in a specific order. Winning advances them to the next race, while losing means they must race the course again. In Free Play mode, players can race on any track they have won on in tournament mode.
As players win races, they win credits which can be used to upgrade parts of their racer, and they can play other racers and characters from the movie, including the bad man of racing, Sebulba himself! Or, players can buy his flame cannon for their own racer and give other racers a nasty shock.
Each world and track has its own look and feel, and the music in this game was mostly taken directly from the movie. If you wanted to race your own podracer after seeing Star Wars Episode 1: The Phantom Menace, now you'll get your chance to book at over 600 mph over courses that include such hazards as Tusken Raiders, meteor showers and lakes of pure methane.
