DESCRIPTION
Star Wars: Dark Forces puts you into the Star Wars universe as a mercenary named Kyle Katarn, employed by the Rebel Alliance. Control Katarn from a first-person perspective as you journey through 3D levels featuring indoor and outdoor environments. You're able to run, jump, duck, and look up or down.
While missions vary in purpose, your overall objective requires the investigation (and eventual destruction) of deadly new Imperial soldiers called "Dark Troopers." Your adventure takes you to underground mines, sludge-filled sewers, arctic installations, deserted cities, scum-filled space ports, and aboard Imperial spacecraft.
Opponents include Stormtroopers, Probe Droids, deadly gun turrets, axe-wielding Gamorrean guards, sewer-dwelling Dianogas, the bounty hunter Boba Fett, and the Dark Troopers themselves. Your arsenal varies from a simple blaster to a heavy-duty mortar gun, and you must collect power-ups, keys and other special items to survive each mission and progress to the next.
The 14 missions are completed in a linear manner, with your assistant Jan Ors (and the occasional cut-scene) helping to explain the premise of each beforehand. There is no "quick-save" option, so you must restart a mission at its beginning once your lives expire. ~ Joseph Scoleri III, All Game Guide
