DESCRIPTION
In Star Wars, the user takes the role of an X-wing pilot launching an assault on the Imperial Death Star. The view of the game is from within the cockpit of the X-wing with each of the ship's four laser cannons at a corner of the screen. Enemy TIE Fighters fly in to launch fireball assaults against the user, who must direct the cannons via directional arrows or joystick to shoot down the TIE Fighters as well as the incoming fireballs. Each X-wing is outfitted with a shield system that allows the ship to take nine hits before being destroyed.
The user's fighter ship travels along a fixed path and is subjected to TIE Fighters for a set period of time before taking on the Death Star. The Death Star sequence has the player moving along the structure's surface, being assaulted by towers that have fireball cannons on top of them. The player must shoot out all of the cannons on top of each tower.
A difficulty setting has been built into this one-player game. Once players finish one complete assault on the Death Star, they will begin a subsequent assault wave. Users may choose to begin on wave one, three or five depending on their skill level, with the difference between waves being the number of enemies and incoming fireballs a player is subjected to. ~ Ryan Glover, All Game Guide
