Bearing a resemblance to cute climbing games like Kangaroo and Arabian, Springer puts players in control of a rabbit hopping around various platforms composed of clouds. Bonus objects — mainly that healthy old-school arcade staple diet of fruit — are scattered around the screen, along with dinosaur eggs that will, if they aren't kicked off the clouds soon enough, hatch and release vicious little red dinosaurs who can kill Springer if they touch him. Springer can kick the eggs and the dinosaurs, but has only a limited amount of time to reach the ladder at the top of the screen which leads into a big, goofy-looking sun — and the next level of play. The sooner the player can guide Springer to the sun, the more bonus points can be earned. Springer is neither amazing nor entirely unremarkable — it's just another cutesy game from that era when everything was a cutesy game, in the heyday of Ms. Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Q*Bert and Donkey Kong Jr. — but it's still fun. ~ Earl Green, All Game Guide
