DESCRIPTION
Using hundreds of different multiple choice questions, Sports Trivia: Championship Edition is designed to test your knowledge of 11 different sports categories including football, basketball, baseball, hockey, golf, tennis, boxing, auto racing, college football, college basketball and the Olympics. The game is set up as a football simulation in which answers are played out on a football field. The more questions you answer during one play, the more yardage you will gain. Also, answering questions quickly will help you move the ball.
When on offense, you can choose to run, pass (long or short), punt, call time out or kick a field goal (if you're within field goal range). When you throw a pass, you get an opportunity to answer more questions than when you keep the ball on the ground by running. On kickoffs, the more questions you answer correctly, the longer your runback. You can kick an extra point or go for a two-point conversion after you score a touchdown.
When playing defense, you can select from the following plays: run defense, short zone, nickel, blitz and block kick. If you simply want to stop the clock, you can call time out. Answering questions correctly will enable you to perform such defensive heroics as block kicks, get sacks, make interceptions and tackle players.
After each quarter, statistics are given for the teams. Players are allowed five audibles (alternate questions) per half. You can play the game against the computer or challenge a friend. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
