DESCRIPTION

Although Spike is a fearless hill climber, he has never seen the likes of this mountain. While reaching the top of most mountains requires certain standard rock climbing procedures, Spike's Peak is filled with out-of-control creatures and perils!

The mountain is broken into various sections including a meadow, a rock-filled area (ledge), an ice-covered snowcap and the game-winning peak. In each section, you, playing as Spike, are in danger. For example, when in the meadow, bears run down the path and eagles swoop down at your head, causing you to hide in little lean-to type bins along the trail.

In addition to wild critters, you have to avoid rockslides, avalanches and the vile Abominable Snowman! Along the way, you pick up various point-based items such as diamonds and pieces of gold. You have three attempts to make it to the mountaintop — once those three attempts have expired, the game is over.

Spike's Peak is a 2D action game and when the top of each screen is reached, you move to a new section of the mountain. When this happens, you're one step closer to reaching the apex! Will you, as the fearless mountain climber, reach the top — or die trying? ~ Matthew House, All Game Guide
