DESCRIPTION
The evil crime boss Kingpin has a devious new plan to destroy Spider-Man. Going live on broadcast television, Kingpin announces to the city that the web-slinger has planted a bomb somewhere in the city. In order to find the bomb, Kingpin urges citizens everywhere to hunt for Spider-Man. To make the threat real, the Kingpin has actually planted the bomb himself. Our hero must evade the citizens of the city while finding and confronting Kingpin's henchmen one by one until he locates Kingpin himself.
Spider-Man for the Game Gear is a loose adaptation of the Genesis game. Spider-Man punches, kicks, and jumps his way through a series of levels, dealing out punishment to goons and eventually defeating classic enemies like Dr. Octopus, the Lizard, and eventually Kingpin. In addition to basic brawling and athletics, Spider-Man can also climb on walls and use his web-shooters to swing around and incapacitate enemies.
But web cartridges don't come for free. Spider-Man carries around a camera with which he can take photos of enemies and scenes. Photos of regular goons are worth a few dollars, while photos of crime bosses are worth a lot more. The money earned can be used to buy new web cartridges. ~ Kyle Knight, All Game Guide
