Space Invaders for the Super NES does a predictably excellent job of re-creating four different screen types of the legendary arcade classic: Upright Cabinet, Black & White, Black & White With Cellophane, and Color. In addition, the game features an extremely enjoyable VS mode, which introduces two-player split-screen action to the Space Invaders universe. The winner in this mode is the first to shoot down all the invaders on his or her side. To make things interesting, shooting certain color-coded enemies causes different things to happen, such as dropping the invaders one level, while shooting down the UFO causes the invaders to switch sides. It's a shame Nintendo didn't include Space Invaders Deluxe as part of this otherwise stellar package. ~ Brett Alan Weiss, All Game Guide
