DESCRIPTION

One of the few video games where brute strength is required for success, Sonic Blast Man pits you against five adversaries from a first-person perspective. In order to defeat your opponents, you must punch a large target with your fist as hard as you can while wearing the attached boxing glove. You have three punches to knock out each foe, which range from a thug to a semi-truck to a giant crab. In 1995, Taito of America voluntarily recalled the game after an investigation by the Consumer Product Safety Commission revealed that approximately 70 injuries could be attributed to its use. Taito denied any wrongdoing or that the game was dangerous, but in 1996 agreed to pay a $50,000 penalty to settle allegations that they had failed to report the injuries. ~ Skyler Miller, All Game Guide
