DESCRIPTION

The alien pirate Scab stole the World Cup, but then he crashed into an asteroid and sent the precious trophy flying into pieces. It's up to the Soccer Kid to find the five hidden pieces of the World Cup and save the world's favorite sport. Many enemies await the Soccer Kid — he boots the soccer ball (and performs tricks, like bicycles) to defeat them. There are also soccer cards to collect and if he collects all the cards in a world, then the Soccer Kid goes to a bonus stage for a chance to get a piece of the World Cup trophy. Soccer Kid is a side-scrolling title similar to Mario Bros. and Abe's Oddysee, and Jaguar owners will appreciate the chance to expand their game library with a quality title.

Soccer Kid was developed by Krisalis but canceled prior to its release because of the Jaguar's declining popularity in the mid-'90s. Songbird later purchased the publishing rights and released Soccer Kid in February 2000. ~ All Game Guide
