DESCRIPTION

Sim Earth is a game that allows you to guide the life of an entire planet, transitioning from the time it is born, through the time when life evolves, beyond when life evolves into sentience, and onward to when civilization goes to the stars en masse.

Unlike its sister game, Sim City, Sim Earth uses energy units instead of money. These units allow you to raise and lower land values, adjust the oxygen balance and mutation rate, place cities, cause ecological disasters, and even use a "Monolith" to either raise an animal to sentience or to cause your sentient species to build special machines that allow all their cities to blast off into the stars for an interstellar migration.

Along the way, you will discover many things about how our own earth moves and explore the Gaia hypothesis developed by James Lovelock. Or, you can attempt to terraform another planet, such as Mars or Venus, into a paradise to rival earth. ~ Lisa Karen Savignano, All Game Guide
