DESCRIPTION
In the world-building tradition of Civilization, Sid Meier's Colonization presents you with the challenge of discovery. You embark on your voyage to a new land as one of four nationalities: English, Dutch, Spanish or French. Each comes with its own political agenda and special characteristics. Once you find the New World, you'll have to contend with rival factions and local natives as you attempt to establish a colony. Creating productive trade routes, managing resources, ensuring and maintaining colony growth, dealing with political situations (diplomacy) and directing military actions will all be part of your struggle to develop and sustain a winning strategic plan.
Colonization includes five distinct levels of play (discoverer, explorer, conquistador, governor or viceroy, each progressively harder). You can use the historically accurate map of the Americas or use the random map generator to create new worlds to explore. The ultimate goal of Colonization is to win independence from your mother country by building your colony's economic and military strength up enough to launch a successful revolution. The game is score based so you can attain various levels of success, but anything less than independence will result in inferior marks. Here's your chance to reshape history and create a new nation. ~ Michael L. House, All Game Guide

“One of my first games as well. I always loved it, from building of colonies to battle with those scurvy Britain dogs. The graphics are really great aswell. Good old classic.”
