DESCRIPTION

Sega's "Shining" franchise beams onto PlayStation 2 for the first time in this release. Viewed from an isometric perspective, the colorful, swords-and-sorcery themed game world is home to anime-inspired heroes and villains. Unlike in earlier titles, such as the Shining Soul and Shining Force games, battles play out in real-time. Players take the role of a young soldier named Xion who awakes in the middle of an ongoing war with no memory of his past. Xion is always joined by a companion as he enters a fight, but which characters decide to team up with him can depend on decisions he makes as he moves through the game's story. ~ T.J.
