DESCRIPTION

Nerves twitching, you enter Castle Shadowgate. Your quest is to destroy the evil Warlock Lord before he unleashes the power of the mighty Behemoth upon the world. As you make your way through the castle, you encounter deadly obstacles and blood-thirsty beasts. These include such legendary creatures as wyverns, banshees, sphinxes, hellhounds, and even a toll-demanding troll under the bridge.

The game screen is divided into three panels. The main window takes up about half the screen and graphically displays the current room you're in, along with any puzzles, monsters or other obstacles that may stand in your way. Use the commands on the bottom third of the screen to look around, take items, use items, and make other actions. Your inventory of items appears in a smaller window on the right.

Should you fail in your mission, it is certain that the Behemoth will enable the Warlock Lord to wreak havoc upon the world. Use your wits (and a bit of luck) to make your way safely through Castle Shadowgate and destroy this evil once and for all. ~ Christopher Michael Baker, All Game Guide
